**March 2024 update**

Due to a recent increase in new client requests, I am temporarily not accepting new clients/referrals.
This is to ensure current clients are able to access appointments in a timely manner and that I can continue offering a high level of support without burning out.
To join the waitlist for an appointment, kindly send an email to nicole@morethannutrients.com.au stating this and I will organise for a waitlist form to be sent to you.

About Me

Hello, and welcome. My name is Nicole Cashin (she/her).

I am Eating Disorder Credentialled, Size-Inclusive, Neuro-Affirming dietitian and nutritionist. Although I am based in Melbourne, More Than Nutrients is a fully online clinic – meaning I can support people from anywhere in Australia.

I understand that eating and mealtimes can be complicated and created More Than Nutrients to empower you to become an expert in managing your health or the health of your child.

I chose the name More Than Nutrients to reflect my belief that although the foods we eat have an impact on our body, the role food plays in our life extends far beyond it’s nutritional content.

A theme I often explore with my clients is ‘what does food mean to you?’ Some of the responses I commonly hear include ‘community’, ‘connection’, ‘pleasure’, ‘excitement’, ‘a creative outlet’… I also hear ‘pain’, ‘discomfort’, ‘fear’, ‘trauma’, ‘functional’, ‘a chore’.

To me, food is not just a source of vitamins and minerals; it holds the power to evoke memories, shape cultural identities, and provide comfort. By emphasising that there is more to food than it’s nutrients, I aim to guide my clients in understanding the multifaceted roles of food in their lives.

This perspective encourages a mindful, compassionate, and comprehensive journey towards a more sustainable relationship with food – one that acknowledges both systemic (i.e., social, political, and economic ) and individual factors (i.e., personalities, traits, preferences, and past experiences) at every step of the therapy process.

I may be the right fit for you if you are:
  • An adult who wants to improve your relationship with food or body
  • An autistic and/or ADHD adult seeking to understand how your neurotype may influence how you approach food
  • An adult experiencing an eating disorder (any type)
  • The parent of a school-aged child with a small range of foods accepted (i.e., ARFID)
  • Medically stable
  • Over 18 years old
I may not be the right fit for you if you are:
  • Wanting a meal plan to lose weight
  • Not medically stable
  • Under 18 years old
If you do not meet these criteria, please talk with your doctor for alternate support options.
